Looking for a crop growth booster?
Many farmers walk into a shop and ask for a "crop growth booster fertilizer" or a "growth accelerator". CNF Booster is often what the dealer hands over, so we want to be clear about what it is. Booster is a soil conditioner, not a fertilizer. It does not add nutrients to the crop by itself. It improves the soil those nutrients sit in.
That difference matters. On light, sandy or red soils, a large share of applied fertilizer and irrigation water drains past the roots before the crop can use it. Booster is built for that problem.
How bentonite works in the soil
Bentonite is a clay that swells when wet and can hold several times its own weight in water. Its fine particles also carry a negative charge, so they hold on to positively charged nutrients such as potassium, calcium, magnesium and ammonium instead of letting them wash down. When the soil dries, the stored water and nutrients stay near the roots for the crop to draw on.
- Improves soil structure and pore space, so water soaks in and roots spread more easily.
- Raises water-holding capacity, which stretches the gap between irrigations.
- Keeps the nutrients you apply in the root zone for longer, so less washes away.
- Granules blend with PROM, PDM and other basal fertilizers.
Fertilizer for crop yield increase: where Booster fits
No granule will speed up a crop on its own. Yield comes from the right nutrients, available when the crop needs them, in soil that can hold water. A simple programme many of our dealers recommend on poor, light soils is:
- CNF PROM at sowing, for phosphorus and organic carbon.
- CNF PDM as basal and before flowering, for potash.
- CNF Booster with the basal dose, so both stay in the root zone.
If you are looking for the best way to improve crop performance on your land, start with a soil test. Booster helps most where the test shows low organic carbon and the soil dries out quickly.
Dose and application
Apply 300 to 400 kg per hectare (about 120 to 160 kg per acre) as a basal application. Broadcast and mix into the soil, or place in the furrow with your basal fertilizer.
Questions about Booster
Is CNF Booster a fertilizer?
No. Booster is a bentonite soil conditioner. It improves how the soil holds water and nutrients; it does not supply nutrients by itself.
Which soils benefit most from Booster?
Light, sandy and red soils that dry out fast and lose fertilizer to leaching.
Can Booster be mixed with fertilizers?
Yes. The granules blend with PROM, PDM and other basal fertilizers and go in together.
How much Booster per acre?
The recommended dose is 300 to 400 kg per hectare, about 120 to 160 kg per acre.
