Why calcium nitrate
Calcium moves slowly inside the plant, so fruit and new leaves run short first. Calcium nitrate supplies it in a form roots take up readily, and the nitrate nitrogen with it improves calcium uptake.
- Firmer fruit with better fruit set and shelf life.
- Nitrogen in nitrate form, preferred by fruit and field crops.
- Calcium displaces sodium in the soil, which protects soil structure when irrigation water is saline.
- Granular form resists caking in storage.
Do not mix calcium nitrate with phosphate or sulphate fertilizers in the same tank. Run it separately.
Questions about Calcium Nitrate
Can calcium nitrate be mixed with other fertilizers?
Not with phosphate or sulphate fertilizers in the same tank, as they form a precipitate. Run it on a separate day or in a separate tank.
